Martial arts. It gives me the outlet to move my body in ways in wouldn't in everyday living. It gives me the outlet to free my mind from the constraints of rigid thought. Even when i'm not able to practice, i'm always practicing, visualizing within.
Playing bass has been nice as well. Though still a novice, i've taught myself some of my favorite basslines from different types of music and i find it soothing. Bigup to the low end. ;9
Peace.

I'll be asking questions that pop into my head..when the feeling hits me, i'll ask them from time to time for the zaangha to ponder.
Some relevant, others..who knows?

Anger would be at the top of that list on the negative side of emotions. I don't get it often, so when i do, it tends to surprise people, i find, as those that know me personally know that it takes a lot to get me to that point..a lot. What's more, i don't feel like i can process my thoughts as well, which i really don't like. I feel like a toy robot walking into a wall..
When focused, t's almost similar to Bale's character in Equilibrium. I peak, where it shows all over my face, and when i'm past the point, i get cold..really cold. It scares me sometimes. A dichotomy, being that i love martial arts, but don't like to fight. Guess that's a part of my firm belief in self preservation; it also makes me aware of what that other side of me is possibly capable of..
On the positive side, i'd say wonderment..is that an emotion? Or what about awe? Is that synonymous? Really, just sit down in a park one day and watch squirrels wrestle or hide their nuts (minds out the gutter ppl ;p)..or watch leaves fall from the sky in autmn..and who made it so that autmn is spelled that way? What's that about? I mean really, the minds of that time musta......(trails off)

How many 'feel good' movies about dancing teens do we need? Really..
And do we need to go to the theaters to see them? Why not straight to dvd and put a commercial on tv to tell the ppl who like those movies, "Now on DVD, a feel good dancing movie that'll make you feel good watching it at home."
I mean really.. ;p

Two stages in my life, for two reasons..
I went to a 2 year college, majoring in mental health counseling (b/c they didn't have a psych. program); my group dynamics class, sociology and social psychology classes were some of the most rewarding i ever had the honor of learning from. It gave me the chance to look deeper into how things work the way they do through people, how they think (or not), and our motivations in society (or lack). It gave me a chance to combine the technical knowledge with my own intution and self expression (group class). Alas, i got tired of the program and dropped it altogether. Was almost finished, too. Rewarding, nonetheless.
From there, the entirety of my massage training was the best ever. It gave me the opportunity to see, through my classmates' critiques, that what i have as a healer is beyond what i've learned. The 1st few weeks of class, those that i had partnered up with would tell me i went to every spot that truly ached them without them telling me. It was mind boggling, but reassuring in that it let me know to trust my intuition further. It just got stronger from there.
Peace.

I like acronyms, especially ones that make sense for the word it's describing. When i was much, much younger, my mother told me one that i'll never forget. Maybe you've heard it before, maybe not.
False Expectations Appearing Real, or Fear. Makes it a little easier to utilize and/or conquer ours, no?
A couple of hours ago, i was pondering, as i tend to do that (don't we all?), and i was thinking about how i usually end my blogs, greetings, or goodbyes with 'peace'. I kept repeating the word in my head. Here's what i got. Maybe some of you already have, maybe my mind pulled it from the collective concious..
Place(ing) Energy Amongst Conscious Entities
Spread the word.
Peace...we all need some.

It's been different things at different stages of my life, but overall, it'd be that of the nomad. A wanderer, physically and spiritually, trying to find his place in a world seemingly dominated by small mind (and at times, my own).
In that, i'm grateful for the zaangha.
Peace.

Very familiar.
I've learned to listen to it, good or bad, anytime it needs attention or to tell me it's content. With my experience in reflexology, if there's ever anything wrong with my body, i'll feel it in my hands or feet before i feel it in the spot that's experiencing the dis-ease.
I like my body, is pretty kikass.
Peace.

I'm sure it's already been said here, but it bears repeating..
Gunpowder, guns, and nuclear weapons.
If i had my way, we'd go back to the way of the sword. Not to the times revolving around it, mind you, but to a time where it took skill to defend yourself, or threaten another. I think about it often. I believe we'd think twice about challenging another, or threatening someone's life; even going to war, if those trained in the way of the fist and blade must now realize that they've to look at their opponent in the eyes before striking him (or her) down. Leaders would also think twice. Understanding there will always be ne'er do wells who'll try to test us, but i feel things would be moreso on the level if we went back to the basics in weaponry.
I know this won't come to pass, but i can dream. Until the day comes where these instruments of destruction and despair say their final farewell (we can only hope)...
Peace.

That's a hard question to answer without one of my own...
Can we ever be 'expert' at anything? As a person who is into learning myriad things, could it not be said that to become expert at something means and end to learning that which we've become 'expert' in?
That, to me, would then mark the decline of our skills in whatever we choose to be experty (that's right ;p) in, no?
Not verbatim, but, "Never stop training, because someone else is training harder to kick your ass.."
Keep training..

"You can't have your cake and eat it too."
But..if you've eaten it..haven't you had it? ;p
I've had it explained to me, and though i understand the explanations, i still think it's a stupid quote.

For a few reasons. I usually choose the pic depending on me mood, so it never stays the same for too long, so..
I love Darth Maul, he is the epitome of controlled rage, consummate skill, and discipline. Sux he died, and i know it was for the movie, but c'mon! We all know that Maul could've beaten B.Y.O.B Kenobi n Qui Blu Wind (who he did defeat) blindfolded. I'm a fan of SW to the utmost, as well as an connoisseur (i think) martial arts. Even in a fit of rage, Vader couldn't have taken him, but that's just me humble opinion..
Anyhow, i've also chosen this current pic b/c i've been going thru a bit of a rough time these past few months. I've kept myself active and managed to keep my light about me, but one can only be pushed so far. So, like Maul, i'm attempting to channel the 'dark side' in me towards beneficial pursuits to keep my head high. And like him, no one will stand in my way, unless that is, i get sliced in half and fall miles down an energy shaft (What's with jedi and pits, anyway?)
Peace..

"It can't rain all the time.."
-eric draven (The Crow)
But wouldn't it be nice if it did? The quote's speaking more in terms of one's emotional state. Let's us know that behind the grey clouds and water flowing upon the streets, the sun still shines, when all is clear.
Peace.

I feel damn good about it. ;p
Seriously, it depends on the circumstance. As i'd love to be able to offer healing as its own reward, my body receives benefit as well as detriment in the process. And I need some way to take care of myself, and in the world we live in, that requires thin, rectangular, colored dead trees.
I wish we could truly bring barter back. Or sharing knowledge as payment of services rendered. Seems people don't place value in anything lest they've to pay for it. But get this, we all want something for nothing, was that about? Bah..
Once i establish me own wellness center, though, i'd like to implement something along the lines of that. My main healing services would be priced, but services such as reiki and energy/ chakra balancing i would only charge like $10 based on how much time is required, or fair trade. Say you're a kikass baker, i'd gladly exchange a 15-20 min reiki session for some delicious devil's food cake. Martial artist? How 'bout a 15 min foot reflexology session in trade for 1 martial technique i could add to me repetoire? Excellent...
Peace.
