What's the best thing about living in this era?

Posted on Mar 10th, 2008 by Ichimaru : Healer~Scholar~Warrior~Human-ish Ichimaru
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 08, 2008:

The technological advances that have managed to make our world a smaller place in the sense that we're connected now more than ever.

And cereal. ;p

Peace.  (i'm not kidding about the cereal.  How did ppl live without cinnamon toast crunch?)

technology has also compressed time … from the thinking about something to the doing of it online … it's just an eyewink.  We can literally do 100 times more in a day than we could 10 years.  And it's only getting faster!!

Which also begets the question of whether or not it's actually necessary, ya know?  Opposites to everything in life, just boils down to perceptions at that point.

good point!  I guess it's having the choice for those who want to take it …

I know what you mean though.  one can always walk instead of drive, cook yourself instead of buying out.  There is the 'slow' lifestyle too!!

Indeed.  As per example, i don't own a car, commuting by either bus or me bicycle.  I siphon wifi wherever possible (because it really should be free, imo), and use very little electricity at home, preferring candlelight.  It makes me laugh listening to people who can't live without power or tv.  The price of being born in the information age, i suppose.  To each their own.
